Vintage Cordoba Electric Guitar

Córdoba Guitars was founded in 1997 and are most well known for their highly regarded, nylon string acoustic guitars. Although they are better known for acoustics, they are now beginning to venture into the acoustic- electric guitar marketplace. Cordoba is a very well known guitar manufacturer from Spain. In recent times it has begun overhauling its guitar line to incorporate 150 years of southern Spanish guitar making customs.

The Cordoba Koa CE is probably the most popular of all Cordoba’s acoustic-electric guitars. It is a very lightweight guitar made from Koa tonewood. The Acacia Koa is a flowering tree native to the Hawaiian Islands. It is very light weight and is often used in the construction of guitars. The Cordoba Koa CE has a solid Koa wood back, top and sides. It has a striking cutaway design and is very lightly varnished to encourage a natural and authentic sound. It features B-Band electronics, which are incorporated to accurately amplify the tone from this electric guitar. The headstock is hand carved, as is the inlaid rosette, made of mother-of-pearl, which has been designed with careful precision to detail. It has an ebony fingerboard and Spanish cedar neck with ebony reinforcement. This Cordoba electric guitar is a stunning addition to any guitarist’s collection.

Expert craftsmanship has styled the beautiful Cordoba Fusion 14RS, which is another Cordoba Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar with nylon strings. The Fusion models of Cordoba electric guitars are dubbed “the nylon-string guitars for steel-string musicians”. This is due in part to the fact that they feature a slim line neck, which is traditionally found on a steel string guitar, merged with the acoustic bracing and tone of a conventional nylon acoustic. The Cordoba Fusion 14RS has an Indian Rosewood back and sides and a solid Spruce top. It also features the mother-of-pearl rosette and uses B-Band electronics. These are very comfortable guitars to play and priced from around $800 they are a very reasonable choice for budding guitarists.

The Cordoba 55FCE Acoustic-Electric Flamenco Guitar features a beautiful flamed maple-wood back and sides, and the soundboard is made exclusively from European spruce. It has a thin body with a cutaway and has been made popular by the band the Gipsy Kings, who use it as their preferred guitar of choice. The fingerboard is made of Ebony and the neck of Spanish cedar. The deluxe gold plated tuning machines give this guitar a classy finish. Featuring Fishman Prefix ProBlend electronics, they provide this particular Cordoba electric guitar with a fast, cutting sound and effortless action. The Cordoba 55FCE Acoustic-Electric Flamenco Guitar is a popular choice for professionals playing live venues.

The other well-known model of Cordoba Electric Guitar is the C5-CE Thin body Acoustic-Electric. Made of Cedar and Mahogany; the C5-CE features a Venetian cutaway. It is a classical styled guitar with a thin body and lacquer finish. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and the tuning machine is nickel-plated with pearlized buttons. Again this model of Cordoba electric guitar features B-Band electronics.
