1957 Fender Duo-sonic Duosonic Vintage Electric Guitar

See the Listing $500.00

1957 FENDER DUO-SONIC GUITAR! Very Excellent Example! 100% All-Original w/Case! No Reserve, Free Shipping! ITEM: For your consideration is this vintage 1957 Fender Duo-Sonic electric guitar. This all original extremely fine example, serial #-21301, is about as nice as they come with very little evidence of playing wear. Although the Fender Duo-Sonic was only a step-up from Fender's introductory student Musicmaster model, this era version features the iconic gorgeous aesthetic combination of Desert Sand finish with the famous anodized Gold pickguard. This variety Duo-Sonic has always been the affordable favorite for those interested in owning a 1950's Fender on a reasonable budget. In the past we have sold similar examples (none of which were as clean, or in as nice condition) for over $2,500.00, however, you never know what the eBay market place demand, so take advantage of this opportunity to own a truly special guitar and a very wise investment, and bid, as the highest bidder wins, regardless of price! The Duo-Sonic, first introduced in 1956 (just months after the Musicmaster), was another in a line of "Student model" guitars from Fender. It features a 22.5" scale length, a solid Ash body, (2) Strat-style single-coil pickups, a 22-fret bolt-on Soft-V-shaped maple neck with black dot inlays and a 1.5" nut width, single-line Kluson Deluxe enclosed tuning machines, a Tele-style fixed bridge, and the original Fender case. Additionally, this guitar featured a vertical toggle switch on the bottom horn of the body instead of the traditional Fender blade selector. This particular example is 100% all-original, in very excellent vintage condition (9+/10), and is quite light, weighing 6 lb. 7 oz. The front of the guitar is in absolutely amazing condition. The finish on the top of the body displays almost no finish wear, and no evidence of weather-checking. Even more amazing is the lack of wear on the gold-colored anodized pickguard. From the front, the body looks almost new! There are several small signs of wear on the back of the body, and only one of which (about 1/8"x1/8") goes through the finish and exposes the wood underneath. Otherwise, there are some general finish indentations and smudges, but nothing overly distracting. There is obvious playing wear on the fingerboard, which is deceiving because the frets exhibit absolutely no wear. All the electronics work perfectly with no audible indications of scratchy pots or intermittent connections. The pickups sound great: unless you don't like1950's Strats! All 3 positions have quite strong output, yet are clear and sweet. The original Stackpole pots (304 645) indicate a late-1956 production, while the neck is pencil-dated "8-57." The neck profile is the quintessential soft-V neck profile, which fits perfectly in your hand. The neck is as straight as an arrow, and the action is consistently low from the first to last fret. The neck angle is perfect, and is not in need of a shim. The original case is in comparable condition, however a belt was installed to secure the neck of the guitar for transport. All of the latches work properly, and the handle looks great. The interior is in corresponding condition, and does not smell nor exhibits stains. Some dealers ask upwards of $3,000.00 dollars for Duo-Sonics of this vintage and condition, so take advantage of this No Reserve auction with Free Shipping and get this one for less! See the Listing $699.99

Up for auction is an increasingly harder to find guitar. It is a 1964 Gibson Melody Maker 3/4 in great shape! Your chance to own a piece of Gibson History at an affordable price. The neck was repaired somewhere down the line. The back of the neck where it meets the headstock looks to have cracked at some point, not all the way through however(looks like it just split halfway and then was glued back) It's been solid for the time that I've owned it and has no bad glue drips or sanding. An absolutely gorgeous example of a vintage Melody Maker. ALL ORIGINAL!!! The guitar's is missing one tuning ferrule(g-string) and has the repaired headstock, but otherwise all there and unmolested! The guitar has not gigged or even decently jammed on in years. I had to remove a layer of dust on the guitar. It has it's share of dings/nicks and is finish checked across the top. She was a player in her day. It will need to be set-up/intonated. I can send more detailed pictures upon request. These are only going up in value! Payment required within 48 hours of auction close. Sale is final. International shipping available, please inquire prior to bidding.I will ship extremely well packed via FED-EX. Shipping to lower 48 continental states only! I recent purchased on ebay, invested $150 in recondition, knobs, electronis, strings, intonation etc.sounds great.whammy is not original here is description from guy I bought it from: I was the orignal purchaser of this Hagstrom II in 1966. I upgraded it with a Vox Bixby tailpiece as the Hagstrom one always pulled the guitar out of tune. It comes with its origanal hard case. The case rubbed on the tremelo bar and removed the nickel finish. (see photo) This guitar was famous when it was produced for have a very thin neck which made it very comfortable to play.
