This was achieved by replacing the original nut and saddle so that the action could be lowered. Plus, the original fret board, which had bar frets ground flat to make them level with the fret board (and had snowflake inlays and was unbound), was replaced with the fret board seen on it, which has raised frets, dot inlays, and is bound. The original nut, saddle, and fret board are not included with this guitar.*** The Sound of this guitar is unbelievable! It has incredible projection but is also very warm. The action is quite good. A perfect choice for someone who wants a vintage 00 with Brazilian rosewood but doesn't want to spend $20,000.00 or more! There are 3 obvious holes in the top of the body and 2 more in the bridge that are holding an aftermarket pick-up in place (this pick-up does not work). The bridge is missing its treble side inlay. There are a couple of small, but deep gashes in the top, one about 1/3" long on the bass side about 1-3/8" from the bottom binding and the other 1/1/4" long at the bottom center right next to the binding. A few other small dings and dents as well as a considerable amount of scuff marks and scratches can be seen on the top, back, and sides. Plenty of lacquer wear is also visible on the top, back, and sides of the body. Scuff marks and scratches can be see on the pick guard and bridge, plus some small indentations can be seen on the pick guard. The top and back body binding show some heavy discoloration. The bridge is firmly attached to the top and is not lifting or pulling off of the body. The neck shows similar scuff marks and scratches as those found on the body, plus almost all of the lacquer has been worn away leaving just the bare wood. A couple of small indentations can be also be seen on the back of the neck and on the neck heel. The fret board just has some scuff marks on it; the fret board binding and the nut are a little discolored looking. The same kind of scuff marks and scratches found on the neck can be seen on the headstock also. There are some small cracks in the wood extending from some of the screws holding the tuners in place. Plus the front, back, and sides of the head stock show some lacquer wear, but not near as much as the neck. The tuning machines are a bit rusted looking, but still work, and the buttons are a little discolored. The frets show moderate-heavy wear with some small grooves on the lower frets, however they play fine and do not fret out. As mentioned earlier, the installed pick-up does not work and the bottom strap-button jack appears to be missing a screw--the wires inside the body are intact, however they have been taped down inside to keep from rattling around. The neck is straight and the action on this guitar is medium. This guitar plays amazingly well and sounds spectacular! Features ***The original ebony bridge and the original tuners have been replaced and are not included with this guitar.*** Hawaiian-style guitar converted to regular playing style Adirondack spruce top Brazilian rosewood back and sides Mahogany neck Non-original rosewood fret board 20 frets; 12 frets to the body Non-original open-gear tuners with white plastic buttons Non-original rosewood bridge 14-1/4" body width at lower bout 10" body width at upper bout 3-1/4" to 4" body depth 24-3/4" scale 1-7/8" nut width 2-3/8" width at 12th fret This is a great sounding guitar, considering its age and its lovely vintage scars, that has the tone and comfort that has kept Martin around all these (and certainly many more!!) years!
